Antique Afghani tribal Silver, Lapis Lazuli, gold wash, wood dowry hair comb

Description

Incredibly beautiful antique ladies hair comb for the connoisseur and collector.
Hand-fashioned fine and wide tooth wooden combs (perhaps sandalwood?, there is a very slight exotic scent to the wood) set into a hand-chased silver frame featuring gold washed arabesques and three (3) oval bezel set Lapis Lazuli stones on each side of the comb. The stones are matched and all a deep, rich cobalt blue with only minor inclusions.
Similar to dowry combs from Tibet, Afghanistan,Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan from the Tekke, Ersari and Yomud tribes. Late 19th / early 20th century. Museum quality, truly extraordinary.
Would make an extra-special "something old" or "something blue" for a wedding gift.
