RARE SHAPED SAUCE TUREEN LID-SPODE CARAMANIAN SERIES

ATTRACTIVE, HARD-TO-FIND SAUCE TUREEN LID
STAFFORDSHIRE BLUE
"CARAMANIAN SERIES" ATT TO SPODE
This is an unusual, shaped sauce-tureen lid in the highly collectible Spode Caramanian Series. Marching around the lid are animals copied from an 1807 book (Oriental Field Sports: Wild Sports of the East by Captain Thomas Williamson).  The finial, which features a floral motif, sits atop a well-moulded leaf. The quality of the engraving and color application is good.
NAME OF PATTERN:
This pattern is known as the Caramanian Series.
SIZE AT WIDEST AND DEEPEST POINTS:
Exterior measurements are 5-1/2" x 4" x 2-1/2" (to top of pretty finial).  Interior measurements (i.e., the rim that sits on the sauce tureen's supporting edge) are 4-7/8" x 3-5/16".
CONDITION:
The lid is clean and looks hardly used. There are, however, the following flaws: (1) light crazing; (2) tiny rim flea bites in interior rim; and (3) minor blue manufacturing smudge on edge of non-ladle end. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the description. The opening bid takes these condition issues into account.
DATE:
Spode's Caramanian Series dates to 1809. The Josiah Spode manufactory flourished 1784-1833.
MARK:
As is typical for lids of this type, there is no mark; however, the pattern is generally attributed to Spode. I cannot, however, guarantee this maker (although I haven't seen another piece in this pattern, marked or unmarked, clearly made by any other manufactory).
